The photograph was taken in Dockey Wood on the Ashridge Estate in Hertfordshire, it is a very popular place to visit during springtime with the bluebells in all their splendor. This particular morning was forcast for misty conditions and I was not alone with my camera as dawn started to take place. Most of the photographers were around the centre of the Wood so I opted to look for a composition which would give me the chance of a panoramic view with the sun’s light starting to burn through the mist. This picture is a 7 image panoramic view stitched together and I liked the 16.9 view more than the full version, which is perfect as a desktop background image.

Over the past four years, I’ve traveled Alaska trying to capture the beauty of this place. This image highlights only one of many memories I’ve made during this journey, and it was created beneath the Mendenhall Glacier in Juneau, Alaska. This ice-cave form from streams of water flowing beneath the glacier and are in a constant state of change. To capture this specific image, I used a Canon 7D with a Tamron 10-24 mm (f/22, 47-seconds, ISO 100, 10mm).

I am drawn to unique atmospheric or seasonal conditions in my photography; conditions that may separate my images from the rest. I have always wanted to visit Vermont to photograph colorful foliage and finally made it in fall 2014. Just outside of Cabot in Woodbury, VT, I climbed a steep, spooky and muddy trail, alone, through the woods. It led me to a sheer rock ledge above Nichols Pond. The view swept to the south and west and displayed miles of vibrant forest that exploded with color.

This past spring, I photographed several areas in and around the Columbia River Gorge. This particular morning was, for sure, a highlight of that trip. The balsamroot and lupines atop Rowena Crest, overlooking the Columbia River, were at peak bloom, and the sunrise was a top five in my experience! All came together for an epic morning and photograph!
